From testimonials & personal experiences, we know what is possible, is possible for us.

Hmm... I have never pictured it like that- lying to yourself.

I believe you are 100% correct in you philosophy that if you practice something, even achieving goals, you will become proficient at it. I'm not too sure why a lot of people don't achieve their goals. It seems rather harsh to call them all liars. Then again, I guess procrastination really is just lying to yourself about something you said you were going to do.

Thank you Wes for an insightful post!

Great post, lying to yourself is the worst thing possible, like you said in your post you have to learn to say NO and that includes other people and yourself.

This reminds me of the introductory chapter(s) to Body for Life... it's been a while since I read it so I might be way off(if anyone else knows the quote more accurately -- please correct me), but roughly paraphrasing it states that we let ourselves down so much sometimes that we stop believing in ourselves. Just committing to something small that you know you will finish will help build your confidence and trust in yourself. Do this a few times and move onto bigger goals/commitments and soon you'll form habits(important!) of completing everything you set out to do.

Wow, Wes! This is a very strong article! I said "ouch" a couple of times as I read it.

What you've shared is so true. One of the things I'm working on is not putting too much on my plate each day. I have a tendency to load up my schedule and only get 1/3 completed. I realize that's a bad habit to get into, so this week my planner is much lighter and I'm feeling much better about getting things done.

"Do what you said you were going to do." Simple but so true.
